Getting the Results You Want!Edition 9 Newsletter
![]() One of the “games” I offer clients as a SUN Coach is called, “The Results Game”. I have to admit that the whole “game” concept was really off-putting to me initially. The intent of the Results Game is to help you learn how to make effective choices that end-up creating the results you want. Sounds simple enough, right? The concept of calling this process the “Results Game” is for us to keep it simple, to not take ourselves too seriously and to “play” with our learning. Coming from an “easy” or “playful” frame of mind; hopefully, allows us to open our minds to a new way of seeing things. For example, say you want to become aware of choices you make around your business. In your head you may be thinking, “I should be doing x-y-z” or “I need to be taking care of a-b-c” and before you know it—you’re “should-ing” all over yourself. Using the Results Game, you would take the Life Area of business and think of it in terms of, what results you can write down that you will accomplish in the next two weeks and then apply realistically the results you can really have happen. Well, as you can imagine, this really does help you to pay attention to what you want to have happen rather than what you think you should have happen. Want and should are two very subtle words to pay attention too. I had a client today under her “health” area, who believed she “should” exercise 4x a week. Upon discussion she shared that she had an exercise bike that was very simple for her to ride, that riding it 20-40 minutes 4 x a week was do-able (especially if she was watching TV.) yet, she had not accomplished her results on this at all since our last session. Upon further exploration she realized that she could reconsider her results and create effective choices by: 1.) Getting her exercise bike out of the garage and put it in the living room 2.) Riding her bike at least one time between now and our next session. Both of these results are do-able results that she can absolutely accomplish between now and our next session. Viola! She gets to bask in the glow of creating effective choices and obtain her results at the same time! An extra assignment for her was to notice which results she was achieving and to ask herself, what was enabling her to accomplish those results. This then begins the next game which is called, “Guidelines for Winning”! Her forte is helping clients discover their life purpose so that they can live their lives “on purpose.” She also coaches high profile people who want to define a successful life in their own terms.
